เทลอาวีฟ 16 พ.ย.- นักวิทยาศาสตร์ชาวอิสราเอลบันทึกภาพขณะปะการังดอกเห็ดกำลังกินแมงกะพรุนได้ เป็นครั้งแรก สร้างความตื่นเต้นให้แก่วงการวิจัยเพราะปกติแล้วปะการังกินแต่สิ่งมีชีวิต ขนาดเล็กมาก

วารสารคอรัลรีฟส์ลงภาพถ่ายโดยนายออมรี บรอนสไตน์ จากมหาวิทยาลัยเทลอาวีฟ และนายกัล ดิชอน จากมหาวิทยาลัยบาร์อิลานขณะสำรวจแนวปะการังใกล้เมืองไอลัตในทะเลแดงเมื่อ เดือนมีนาคมปีนี้ เป็นฤดูที่มีแมงกะพรุนจำนวนมากเพราะกระแสน้ำอุ่นขึ้นและมีสารอาหารอุดม สมบูรณ์ คณะสำรวจแทบไม่เชื่อสายตาตนเองเมื่อสังเกตเห็นปะการังดอกเห็ดกำลังกินแมง กะพรุนขนาดพอ ๆ กับมันเป็นพฤติกรรมที่ไม่เคยทราบมาก่อน เพราะปกติมีแต่ปลา เต่า หรือนกทะเลที่กินแมงกะพรุน ขณะที่ปะการังส่วนใหญ่กินแต่สิ่งมีชีวิตขนาดเล็กเพียง 0.2-0.4 มิลลิเมตร เช่น แพลงตอน สารพลังงานจากสาหร่ายสังเคราะห์แสงได้ซึ่งอาศัยอยู่ในปะการัง หรือแมงกะพรุนตัวอ่อนขนาดเล็กมาก แต่ไม่เคยเห็นปะการังกินแมงกะพรุนตัวโตเต็มวัยมาก่อน

นักวิจัยระบุว่า ปะการังดอกเห็ดไม่ได้เกาะกับพื้นทะเลเหมือนปะการังส่วนใหญ่ จึงสามารถเคลื่อนที่ได้อย่างจำกัด แต่ยังไขปริศนาไม่ออกว่ามันสามารถจับเหยื่อกินได้อย่างไร การที่ปะการังกินแมงกะพรุนนอกจากทำให้มันได้โปรตีนเป็นสารอาหารแล้ว ยังเป็นการรักษาสมดุลให้แก่สภาพแวดล้อม เพราะการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพอากาศทำให้โลกร้อนขึ้น แมงกะพรุนแพร่พันธุ์มากขึ้นจนอาจทำให้ท้องทะเลเสียสมดุลได้.-สำนักข่าวไทย

QUIKSILVER OPEN 2009 - WINNER PRESENTATION
 


09 November: Following the final event of the 6 star prime Quiksilver Open at Keramas, the winner presentation took place at the CenterStage of the Hard Rock Hotel Bali last Saturday. The Event kicked off by duo MC Tipi Jabrik and Matt Hoy with a Roxy Short Short Competition. The 11 finalists from Bali and Jakarta competed for a chance to become the next Roxy model. In the end, Anastasia from Bali was the lucky girl selected by the judges as the winner on the final night. The event finished off with the screening of the Quiksilver Open 2009 video highlights followed by the presentation of trophies to the winners.

3 November, 2009 – Keramas-Bali:  In a tense and highly competitive quarterfinal matchup today at the 6 Star Prime Quiksilver Open 2009 at Keramas Beach in Bali, Lee Wilson narrowly defeated ex pro World Tour surfer Jake Paterson to become the 2009 Coca Cola ISC Men’s Open Champion and regain the title he lost to Dede Suryana last year. 

The Quiksilver Open 2009 was the final stop on the 2009 Coca-Cola ISC Tour and the pivotal competition that would decide the 2009 champion, with the race very tight between Wilson, Garut Widiarta, Dedy Santoso, and Raditya Rondi.

29 October 2009, Kuta-Bali:

The final event of the ISC 2009 calendar is set and ready to roll at the famous surf break Keramas in Gianyar Bali. The 6 star prime event will crown the 2009 ISC Champion with 3500 points up for grabs for the winner.

Lee Wilson has been the front-runner for most of the 2009 season, and if he wants to win the Coca-Cola ISC Open Championship its now or never.  He has to post a win at this the last event of the year, as Garut Widiarta has just jumped into first place and leads by just under 900 points.  Also very close behind Lee (288 points) is Dedi Santoso and Raditya Rondi (363), so its going to be a historic showdown at arguably Bali's most consistant and high performance contest venues.

13 October 2009, Kuta-Bali:  The Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Tour proudly announces the inaugural Coke Zero Longboard Competition, to be held at Kuta Beach on Friday the 23^rd of October.

This first ever Coca-Cola ISC Longboard competition will toe up on the famous Kuta Beach surf venue of Halfways, where the numerous sandbanks offer up rights and lefts on all tides to challenge the contestants and provide massive amounts of entertainment for the spectators on the beach.

Bali has never had a reputation as an epic longboard haven, but that is about to change as an international field of longboarders take to the waves of Kuta Beach to show the world how it’s done…Bali style!  Bali has it’s own crew of toe’s-on-the-noser’s, and they will be joined by others from as far away as the Philippines, Japan, Brazil, and Hawaii.

กรมการกงสุลเปิดให้บริการออกหนังสือเดินทาง ที่ศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต

เมื่อเวลา 11.30 น. วันที่ 29 ก.ย. ที่ชั้น 2 ศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายวิชัย ไพรสงบ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต ไปตรวจเยี่ยมสำนักงานหนังสือเดินทางจังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยมีนายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ ผอ.กองตรวจลงตราและเอกสารเดินทางคนต่างด้าว กรมการกงสุล กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ในฐานะรักษาการ ผอ.สำนักงานหนังสือเดินทางจังหวัดภูเก็ตต้อนรับ นายจักรกฤษณ์ กล่าวว่า สำนักงานหนังสือเดินทางจังหวัดภูเก็ตจะเปิดให้บริการตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 ตุลาคม 2552 เป็นต้นไป ตั้งแต่เวลา 08.30 น. ถึงเวลา 16.30 น. ตามวัน เวลาราชการ ให้บริการทำพาสปอร์ตให้กับประชาชน ไม่ว่าอยู่จังหวัดไหน สามารถมาใช้บริการได้ โดยเสียค่าธรรมเนียม 1,000 บาทและค่าส่งไปรษณีย์ EMS อีก 35 บาท รวมเป็น 1,035 บาท ก็จะได้รับเล่มประมาณ 1 สัปดาห์ จากวันที่ยื่นขอ ทั้งนี้การทำหนังสือเดินทางของประชาชนทั่วไป ถ้าอายุเกิน 20 ปี สามารถใช้บัตรประชาชนอย่างเดียวได้ ถ้ากรณีที่บุคคลยังไม่บรรลุนิติภาวะต้องให้บิดา มารดา มาลงนามให้ความยินยอมด้วยทั้ง 2 คน อย่างไรก็ตามขั้นตอนการทำพาสปอร์ตสะดวกมากใช้เวลาเพียง 15 นาทีเท่านั้น ทั้งนี้สำนักงานหนังสือเดินทางจังหวัดภูเก็ต มีเจ้าหน้าที่จำนวน 20 คน และพร้อมจะให้บริการ และคิดว่าช่วงแรก ประชาชนยังไม่ทราบมาก ตั้งเป้าประชาชนมาใช้บริการประมาณ 100 คนต่อวัน แต่สักระยะหนึ่งเมื่อประชาชนเริ่มทราบว่าทางกรมการกงสุลมาเปิดบริการที่ ภูเก็ต อาจจะเพิ่มมากขึ้นถึง 200 คนต่อวัน ที่สำคัญประชาชนไม่ต้องเดินทางไปทำหนังสือเดินทางที่จังหวัดสงขลา หรือจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี ทำให้สะดวกยิ่งขึ้นโดยเฉพาะประชาชนชาวภูเก็ต พังงา กระบี่ ระนองก็สามารถใช้บริการได้

Busan Mayor’s Cup International Champs

Busan South Korea hosts its first International Surfing Championship

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 September, 2009 : - -The Surfing Korea Federation (SFK) along with the Mayor of Busan hosted the 1st Busan Mayor’s Cup International Surfing Championships.   The competition was attended by over 200 Korean surfers of all levels, including members of the newly formed Korean national surfing team and 150 international surfers from Japan, England, South Africa, Canada, Australia and the USA. 

The dropping 2 foot swell resulted in a few lulls throughout the day's competition, especially later in the afternoon when the tide was bottoming out, but the majority of the day’s conditions were quite good with less wind and bright sunshine.  The top seeded Korean surfer and newest member of the Korean national surfing team is optimistic about the growth of surfing in Korea and his ability to go out on the international surfing scene and make a name for Korean surfers.

The Women’s Division also had their chance in the water with a total of 27 women competing. Kim Na-eun has been chosen as the first woman to join Korea’s national surfing team and is enthusiastic about her role as the first Korean woman on the team.

The Juniors were also well represented in the day’s events and the coveted 1st place trophy was awarded to Lee Nara who is the hope for the next generation of Korean surfers. With South Korea’s vested interest in their junior surfers and a new surfing academy opening its doors next spring, the future of surfing in Korea is bright. 

The South Korean Surf Federation is also leading the way in going 'green' and protecting the environment for surfers.  The competition was powered by eco-friendly solar electricity.

About the International Surfing Association (ISA) : The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for Surfing. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980.

ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of over 50 countries on six continents. Its headquarters are located in La Jolla, California. It is presided by Fernando Aguerre, first elected in 1994 in Rio, and re-elected six times since. The ISA's four Vice Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Mike Gerard (USA) and Karín Sierralta (Peru).
