Phuket-Thailand: 11 year old Annissa Flynn took both Junior
and Women’s division wins yesterday the Quiksilver King of the
Jungle event at Kamala Beach, coming in only briefly to change
rash shirts before padding out again between the two finals. She
deftly maneuvered her way through the often tricky 2-foot
beachbreak during the two 20-minute final heats to capitalize on
scoring opportunities, besting her rivals and coming back to the
beach with incredible back-to-back wins.

THE next women’s world champion
surfer may very well be living on Phuket.Annissa Tita Flynn is already turning heads, as well as good waves, as she impresses everyone with her surfing ability. And all at just eleven years of age.
Annissa, a pupil at Phuket Thai Hua School, is a quiet girl who loves the water. At the weekend she spends every available minute practising her moves on the waves and will often persuade her father, Michael, to take her to the beach, during the week, if she finishes her homework early. It’s this dedication to the sport that has brought her success.
Grom’s Tear It Up on Day 2 of Quiksilver King of the Groms at Kuta Beach
By JoobThe 2-3 foot waves were lined up much better, so the more proficient groms were finding longer and steeper walls to race down before taking deep bottom turns and lining up to blast a big hack or try to punt an air. There were still some 4-foot closeouts to dodge, but overall the conditions were very close to perfect for the 16 and under grommets.
